You have a great idea for a blogpost – and that’s a good start. If you want to grow your business, you need published content – and that means turning your idea into a written blogpost. Fit into one blogpost. Think about breaking the idea down into a blogpost series or even an ebook.
But writing isn’t rocket science … and there are a few simple writing tricks you can use to write blogposts that are much more powerful and engaging. Before we get into those 9 tricks, though, here’s the why behind it: Fully-engaged readers are more likely to remember your blogposts.

With blogging, you not only have to do the task: write the post. You have to decide what the task is : the topic of the post. Almost every blogger I know tries to dive headlong into the post without thinking about it. A blogpost is almost pure thought. Surely blogposts aren’t poisonous.

Sure, it would be nice, but for the most part, we bloggers are simpler souls with much kinder dreams. Do you really have what it takes to be a professional blogger, or are you just being dumb? In April of 2006, I was hit by a car going 85 miles an hour. I was a full-time blogger, for God’s sakes. Nothing else.
I always try to write the way I speak, and I think the most successful bloggers do the same. My best post often starts out as me writing to a reader in an email or answering a question in a very conversational tone. I started my first blog back in 1998, when it was called journaling. From there, I moved to Tripod, and then to Blogger, a quick side-step into another platform or two, and then WordPress.
