I was the copywriter, and Peter was the artdirector. Peter was also an incredibly talented artdirector. We worked together every workday for several years. Peter was different too. Quite the character. He was also a good 20 years older than me. We came from very different backgrounds. He was obsessively tidy.
As a budding young copywriter in the early 1980s, I worked with an artdirector as my partner, and our work was overseen by the agency’s creative director. Creative directors were at the top of the pile in Creative Departments. They were the best of the best, and inspired the work of everyone.
